Hi, The Internet:
As opposed to, or I suppose in addition to, or you could say leading up to my annual tradition of sharing a year-end playlist of my favorite songs from that year, I’m going to attempt to up my game; I propose, Cameron Crowe-style, to share a mix every month, made up of the stuff I couldn’t stop listening to that month.
(Then, at the end of the year, I’ll either drop all twelve into one big mix, or cherry-pick for year-end favorites. Welcome behind the curtain, regulars! This is how the sausage gets made!)
That in mind, we’ve reached the end of January, 2015, the most futuristic-sounding month to come along for a while. Give a warm welcome to January’s mix, The Adventures of You and Me, so named for the David Woodcock track that you know what? Why not listen and find out?
See you (maybe?) at the end of February for another round of Mix-a-Month!
Track Listing:
1. “Pata Pata” – Miriam Makeba
2. “Uptown Funk” – Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars
3. “Price Tag” – Sleater-Kinney
4. “Denis” – Blondie
5. “Perfect Couples” – Belle & Sebastian
6. “Pilgrim” – Fink
7. “Summer Breaking” – Mark Ronson feat. Kevin Parker
8. “Cabezon” – Red House Painters

PS: I realize “Uptown Funk” isn’t exactly the deep cut a curator dreams are made of, but know what? Don’t care. Its ubiquity is matched only by its solid jam-ness. Enjoy it anyway, because of course you do.
