Picture it: Toronto, 2023. It’s 6 in the morning at YYZ. We’ve been up since 4, and were supposed to fly out yesterday. It should be a bad scene, but my 10 yr old is a world champ, so he’s going along with all the shenanigans.
But another kid across the way, maybe 2 years old, is not going along with it. Screams. Tears. Demanding a bagel that, when offered by his parents, he immediately refuses.
And my kid, who should be doing the 10 yr old version of this kid’s perfectly understandable meltdown, instead raises his eyebrows and says “Whew. Someone’s havin’ a real ‘dropped chicken nuggy’ day.”
